도시 건축의 외피에 대한 건축적 활동의 소고
세상을 이루는 모든 것들을 확대하여 살펴보면 미세한 단위들의 반복적 조합으로 이루어져 있다. 건축물 또한 많은 부재들의 조합과 반복으로 이루어져 있다. 건축에서 나타나는 반복의 개념은 예술적, 철학적으로도 많은 의미를 내포하고 있다. 하지만 건축에서의 반복성은 단순히 예술이나 철학의 개념만을 가지고 설명될 수 없다. 건축은 예술적 창조성과 현실의 기능성을 모두 고려해야만 한다.
비건축적 재료의 사용을 통한 물성의 변화들은 현대 건축의 여러 특징과 변화들이 다양하게 반영되어 공간, 구조, 형태, 재료 등과 같은 요소들과 접목되어 외피에 잘 나타나고 있다. 이미지, 사진, 텍스트 등을 구축속으로 끌어들여 다양한 재료의 물성의 변화를 통해 색상, 기술적인 변형 등으로 구축된다. 반복된 이미지들로 구성된 외피는 하나의 캔버스로 인식하게 되며 , 건축의 사용자에게 예술적인 즐거움과 활기를 주는수단이 된다.
반복적인 착시현상을 통해 건축물 공간의 안과 밖의 영역의 경계를 허물고 모호하게 만들어 주변과 자연스럽게 동화시켜 건축물과 이용자들 간의 커뮤니티가 이루어지는 역할을 하게된다.
우리는 건축 표면의 외부에서 이미지 프린팅 및 재료의 천공, 구김 , 부식 실크스크린 등을 시도하고, 표면 내부에서는 생활하고 활동하는 사람들의 움직임이 외피를 통해 나타나게 함으로서 주변의 요인 및 정보를 보여주는 인터페이스화를 형성한다.
공학기술과 디지털 기술의 발달로 비선형적 디자인을 추구한다. 현대 사회의 공학기술의 발달과 디지털 기술의 발달로 인하여 2000년대 이후의 건축물부터는 비선형적인 형태로 인해 구조와 외피가 결합되고 조명및 색상 등으로 시각화를 통해 정보를 알리고 도시의 스크린이 되는 새로운 디자인들을 형성하고자 한다.
